English summary: This study concerns David Kaufmann’s News Service as an example of Jewish scholarly networks during the 19th century. David Kaufmann (1852-1899) was a Professor at the Rabbi Seminar in Budapest during the last third of the 19th century and was one of the major influences in the Jewish science movement, known since the 1820s as the Science of Judaism. Using as an example Kaufmann’s News Service, a correspondence network of Jewish authors and scholars, Mirjam Thulin studies the networking strategies of the Jewish scholarly community during that era. The study also provides detailed insights into the many cultural and scientific aspects contained in the history of Jewish knowledge transfer and the Science of Judaism during the 19th century. German description: Im 19. Jahrhundert wurde der judischen Wissenschaftsbewegung und ihren Vertretern universitares Ansehen verwehrt. Mit Entfaltung der seit den 1820er Jahren sogenannten Wissenschaft des Judentums ubernahmen Korrespondenz, personlicher Austausch und Reisen eine wichtige Funktion fur die Organisation und Koordination der judischen Gelehrtengemeinschaft. David Kaufmann (1852-1899), Professor am Rabbinerseminar in Budapest, war ein zentraler Akteur dieser Gelehrtengemeinschaft. Er etablierte mit seinem Nachrichtendienst, wie sein Briefnetzwerk bezeichnet wurde, einen bedeutsamen Kommunikationsraum, der es erlaubt, die Vernetzungsstrategien der judischen Gelehrten exemplarisch zu dokumentieren. Mirjam Thulin zeigt anhand von Kaufmanns Korrespondenz und seinen Reisen Leben und Wirken dieses Pioniers moderner judischer Gelehrsamkeit sowie seine Bedeutung fur die weit verzweigte Wissensgemeinschaft auf.
