»Tagebücher« sind in der Regel keine wissenschaftlichen Texte. Sie sind aber für die Wissenschaft von wesentlicher Bedeutung, weil sie das Denken und Empfinden eines Autors unverschleiert vermitteln und verdeutlichen.
Dies trifft gerade auf die Jugendtagebücher Baaders zu. Von daher ist es mehr als notwendig, diese Texte zugänglich zu machen und zu kommentieren. Die passagenweise von jugendlichem Schwung geprägten Tagebucheinträge zeugen aber andererseits von der Reife und Abgeklärtheit Franz von Baaders. Sie führen jungen Studierenden, deren philosophischer Eros noch nicht erloschen bzw. ausgelöscht worden ist, sein kritisches Denken vor Augen. Von nichts anderem dürfte Franz von Baader mehr beseelt und getrieben gewesen sein.
Alberto Bonchino, Dr. phil., ist seit 2012 Leiter des Editionsprojekts »Kritische Edition ausgewählter Texte Franz von Baaders« an der TU-Dresden.
