Johannes Bobrowski und Ahmad Samlu
Ein Vergleich von Merkmalen dichterischen Engagements
by Kiumars Aresumand-Gilandehi
English summary: The study is devoted to literary commitment in the lyrical works of Johannes Bobrowski and Ahmad Samlu. Two authors who, in their manifold self-testimonies, left no doubt about their conviction that a poet has the vocation to proclaim humanity and brotherhood in order to contribute to a better coexistence of peoples. The work of the two poets is used to show in a comparative perspective how, under the condition of censorship in two restrictive political systems – the GDR and Iran – the genre of poetry becomes a medium of social engagement. It becomes clear which aesthetic means are used to express moral-political claims and individual views of history and society.
