English summary: The intriguing and complex topic of Sardinia’ s coastal towers has, for some time, drawn the interest of many academics and enthusiasts. Whilst following on from previous lines of research, this work offers a new perspective. In fact, its attention is mainly focused on technical and constructional aspects, in pawrticular the masonry structures, and it is further enriched through comparison with similar Mediterranean systems, which highlights cultural relations and similarities in typology, material and construction. In order to fully appreciate the numerous nuances of the present topic, an integrated multidisciplinary protocol was adopted. The towers have been studied from historical, architectural, technical and mineralogical-petrographic viewpoints, in a stratigraphic approach calibrated to the specific features of each investigated case. The definition of the dimensional and technical characteristics of masonries present in the investigated towers, along with their philological dating, have proved to be useful tools of comparison through which to date other architectures present on the island. These are represented mostly by minor building, which do not have exact construction dates and are often neglected due to a lack of recognition of their historical and cultural values. With the aforementioned goals in mind, this study aims to define strategies and work schemes that guarantee high-quality restoration projects carried out on the system of towers, appreciating them and recognizing their significant landscape and architectural values.
