English summary: The authors of the collection Identity and Scripture. Tradition Processes as Ways of Forming Religious Identity study the reciprocal effects between formation and tradition processes of ancient scriptures and the forming of identity. Representative examples – originating from different disciplines like Ancient Near Eastern Studies, Studies of the Old and the New Testament, Qumran Research and Jewish Studies – demonstrate how specific texts, on their way of becoming authoritative texts or Scripture, influence both the religious and the political-national identity of communities in different historical contexts.
