Das Mittelalter brachte Europa die Verwendung des Papiers, eine Vielfalt an Schriftarten, die meisten der heute gebrauchlichen Satzzeichen, pragende Innovationen der Textgestaltung und eine neue Qualitat der Bebilderung und Textillustration – und legte damit das Fundament fur die Medienkultur der Gegenwart.
