Heinrich von Meissen (geb. 1250/60 in Meissen; gest. 1318 in Mainz) gehort zu den bedeutendsten Dichtern und Komponisten des Mittelalters. Schon zu seinen Lebzeiten galt er als Beruhmtheit. Seine Werke waren stilbildend fur Poesie und Musik im deutschen Kulturraum. Das beruhmteste, sein “Marienleich”, brachte ihm den Beinamen “Frauenlob” ein.
