In 1918, the Church of Zurich was the first regional church in Switzerland and Europe to ordain two women. Three years later ,the Zurich Church Synod introduced the pastorate for women, even though the Swiss federal Court withheld its approval. Despite this decision, the following years saw more and more female theologians in pastoral positions, until they were officially accredited in 1956. This volume follows the historical development from the first female theology student to the first female presidents of church councils. German text.
