The plays of the German documentary theater illustrate the role of writing, in form of script, files, lists, in the contexts of Holocaust, totalitarianism, and McCarthyism. The plays themselves refer to the original scripts and documents in paratexts. This research examines the medium of writing and its significance for the drama texts of the documentary theatre.
Jahrhundert.
