Der Aussage der Mann ist das Haupt der Frau, wie sie in den beiden neutestamentlichen Abschnitten 1. Korinther 11,2-16 und Epheser 5,21-23 vorkommt, kann das heutige Empfinden nicht mehr viel abgewinnen. Sie scheint einer vergangenen Zeit anzugehoren. Jedoch gehort es zur Eigentumlichkeit biblischer Texte, dass sie nicht selten Wahrheiten enthalten, die erst bei einer vorurteilsfreien Untersuchung ans Tageslicht treten. Dieses Ziel strebt Heinz Kulling an. Nach detaillierter Auslegung beider Bibelstellen prasentiert er unterschiedliche Deutungen und legt schliesslich dar, dass die Ordnung der Liebe, die durch das Haupt garantiert ist, eine innere Verbundenheit fur Mann und Frau ermoglicht, die beiden die hochste Verpflichtung auferlegt, aber auch die hochste Entfaltung ermoglicht. Heinz Kulling, Dr. theol., Jahrgang 1938, stand wahrend beinahe vier Jahrzehnten als Pfarrer im Dienst einer schweizerischen reformierten Landeskirche.
