In this volume, Jan Dochhorn deals with Paul, who developed his myth of Adam using the Apocalypse of Moses as his background. Paul had become familiar with this in Jerusalem before he became a Christian. Thus he developed the idea of a cosmic doom of sin which is virtually unsurpassed in its asperity and at the same time allows for an astonishingly differentiated perception of the unredeemed human being.

Rom 7,7-25 ist das Kernstuck eines umfangreichen Adam-Sunde-Tod-Komplexes in den Protopaulinen. Es hat eine reichhaltige Auslegungstradition hervorgebracht, die Jan Dochhorn in diesem Band in Grundzugen nachzeichnet. Als Hintergrund des Textes identifiziert er die Apokalypse des Mose (Apc Mos). Damit ergibt sich die Moglichkeit, die Apc Mos genauer zu datieren und die Entstehungsgeschichte des judischen Adammythos zu beschreiben. Ferner lassen sich die Apc Mos und mehrere mit ihr verwandten Werke dem Milieu von Diasporaruckwanderern in Jerusalem zuordnen, dem Paulus angehorte und von dem das fruhe Christentum wesentliche Anregungen empfing. Theologisch ergeben sich mit dieser Arbeit Konsequenzen vor allem fur die Anthropologie, Hamartiologie und Nomologie des Paulus, die systematisch dargestellt werden und mit denen sich fur die Dogmatik, die kirchliche Verkundigung und das Gesprach zwischen den Konfessionen neue Impulse ergeben sollen.
