Changing Media – Changing Democracy? Medienwandel – Wandel der Demokratie?
The Democratic Potential of Social Media / Das demokratische Potenzial der sozialen Medien
edited by Tobias Eberwein and Corinna Wenzel
There is widespread consensus that social media such as Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube are changing political communication. However, no such consensus exists when it comes to assessing the effects that the emergence of social network services, blogging environments, and online discussion forums have on democracy. The new volume of the book series “Relation” intends to shed more light on the change in political processes triggered by the media breakthrough.
