English summary: Both here, as well as in the famous oracle sanctuary of Apollon at Didyma which is also part of site, archaeologists discovered such a large number of inscriptions mentioning individual citizens as has only ever previously been found in Athens. Thanks to these inscriptions, current research is gaining detailed insights into changes in urban life over the course of several centuries, as well as into the social networks of the leading families. The women and girls of the bourgeois middle class households played a significant role within the communication structures of the local elite in their functions as female priests or in similar positions of honor, a fact which was officially recorded. In her study, Linda-Marie Gunther examines the information available on female members of the citizenry of Miletus from the 4th to the 1st century BC and analyzes the role of girls and women in the public space of the polis, especially with regard to their function in political networks.
