Muslims of Turkish origin are the largest migrant group in Germany. Due to the ageing of this population, the issues of chronic illness and how to cope with it are becoming more and more important for them. Similar to native families, the effects of chronic illness also penetrate migrant families at all levels and in all areas of life. Which resources do these families have to cope with chronic disease? What does the use of these resources depend on? The author analyses the guiding logic of resource selection among Muslim families of Turkish origin and their meaning in relation to their family structure.
