ISD is pleased to announce a new print and digital distribution partnership with The Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi Society (MIAS), a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the study and understanding of the writings of the influential Sufi philosopher and mystic Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi (1165–1240).
Founded in 1977, MIAS supports scholarship and public engagement through publications, educational resources, and events. The Society is represented by nonprofit organizations in Oxford, England, and Berkeley, California, and collaborates with affiliated societies in Spain and Australia.
Among the titles joining ISD’s distribution program is Fusus al-hikam, Ibn Arabi’s most renowned work, presented in a four-volume English edition featuring Ismail Hakki Bursevi’s seventeenth-century Ottoman Turkish translation and commentary. The edition provides scholars and readers with access to one of the foundational texts of Islamic mysticism and philosophy.
ISD is proud to support MIAS in expanding access to these important works for scholars, libraries, and readers worldwide. ISD will represent MIAS in North America while ISD International will represent the organization in the rest of the world.
