Metaphysique
by Arnold Geulincx, edited by Helene Bah Ostrowiecki
Arnold Geulincx, a Flemish Cartesian, develops an original occasionalism, combining the priority of ethics with the view that man’s influence in the world is minimal. His Metaphysique (1691) puts forward a conception of the subject centered on the experience of humanity, defined by its limits.
