Loci praecipui theologici nunc denuo cura et diligentia. Summa recogniti multisque in locis copiose illustrati 1559
Lateinisch-deutsch. Band 2
by Philipp Melanchthon and edited and translated by Peter Litwan and Sven Grosse
Volume 2 of the bilingual edition of the “Loci praecipui theologici” of 1559 now contains on 518 pages the second half of Melanchthon’s major work. It includes such important doctrinal pieces as the Doctrine of the Church, of the Sacraments and of Predestination, with which the late Melanchthon took a position within the Reformation debates. Also important is his teaching on consolation, “De calamitatibus et de cruce et de veris consolationibus”, which was to have a lasting influence on the piety of Lutheranism. The volume is concluded with indexes for biblical passages, terminology, non-biblical names, as well as place, people and group names, which contain the entries for both Volume 1 and Volume 2.
