Rules are almost omnipresent. A philosophical analysis of how rules function and how they can be evaluated is worthwhile in many respects: A rule analysis under speech act theory conditions allows to explain the action-guiding power of rules as well as to evaluate rules argumentatively. And with the provision of an evaluation framework, relatively concrete and justified evaluations can be made.
