Angesichts von allgegenwartigen Ohnmachtserfahrungen geht es der Theologie darum, die Ressourcen des Glaubens so zur Geltung zu bringen, dass aus ihnen der Mut erwachst, ethische Verantwortung nuchtern, aber zuversichtlich wahrzunehmen. Die theologisch-ethischen Beitrage dieses Buches entwickeln die ganze Bandbreite einer “Ermutigung zur Verantwortung” und geben die aktuelle Diskussion uber ein tragfahiges Verantwortungskonzept wieder. Theologische Ethik setzt auf die zentrale Uberzeugung des christlichen Glaubens, dass selbst in der Erfahrung des Scheiterns noch Hoffnung moglich ist. Orientierung im Handeln wird dort geleistet, wo Kritikfahigkeit und Vertrauen in die Gestaltbarkeit der Wirklichkeit zusammenkommen. Damit greifen die Beitrage dieses Bandes theologische und ethische Impulse von Josef Romelt auf. Wie kann eine ethische Hermeneutik der Ermutigung und der Befahigung heute entfaltet werden? Welche neuen Akzente sind fur eine Verantwortungsethik zu gewinnen, die nicht abstrakt bleibt, sondern sich als leb- und leistbar erweist? Die Beitrage decken die gesamte Bandbreite von den Grundlagen einer theologisch-ethischen Verantwortungsethik bis hin zu konkreten Verantwortungskontexten ab und spiegeln damit den aktuellen Diskussionsstand einer christlichen Ethik wider, die zur Verantwortung ermutigt.
