Atti del convegno internazionale interdisciplinare di studi (Accademia Toscana di Scienze e Lettere La Colombaria, 23-24 novembre 2023)
edited by Amelio Fara and Piera Giovanna Tordella
This volume brings together the proceedings of the conference Bernardo Buontalenti (1523-1608). Disegno, architettura e teatro, and retraces the steps of Buontalenti’s multifaceted career in a journey back in time. The text is the expression of both the need for an ongoing critical investigation of his role as a military engineer and civil architect (with evident proto-Baroque outcomes) and an analysis of his linguistic progression (including his drawing and decorative skills) in several spheres of knowledge that span from theater to landscape architecture and the new hydraulic science.
