Wahrend es zu Weihnachten alle Jahre wieder neue Geschichten gibt, fallt die Bilanz zu Pfingsten er nuchternd aus: Es gibt kaum – weder alte noch neue – Geschichten zum Heiligen Geist. Dies mag damit zusammenhangen, dass Geist etwas Abstraktes ist. Pfingsten sind die Geschenke am geringsten, hat Berthold Brecht konstatiert. Eigentlich trotzdem kein Grund, nicht zu feiern. Denn in der Bibel ist Pfingsten ein rauschendes und berauschendes Fest: Menschen geraten in Verzuckung, in ihnen brennt es wie Feuer, in antiquiertes Denken und Sprechen fahrt die neue Luft des Pfingstgeists. Die Geschichten und Impulse des Buchs erzahlen die unglaublichen Begebenheiten von Pfingsten nach und ubertragen sie in die Gegenwart. Denn auch heute kann Pfingsten bedeuten: plotzlich dieses Leuchten.
