La presente publication est le premier volume des rapports definitifs des fouilles de Tell Amarna qui ont lieu entre 1991-1998. Elle est le fruit d’une etroite et amicale collaboration entre deux equipes: la mission archeologique de l’Universite de Liege en Syrie, dirigee par O. Tunca, a laquelle etait confiee la conduite des fouilles, et l’equipe de l’Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, sous la responsabilite de M. Molist, qui a mene les recherches relatives a la periode de Halaf. W. Cruells a bien voulu prendre en charge la coordination scientifique des recherches et la publication n’aurait jamais vu le jour sans ses competences et son devouement sans limite.
