Contes et coutumes des femmes zoroastriennes

Cet essai conjoint deux disciplines: l’anthropologie des rites et l’histoire des litteratures folkloriques. Le terrain sur lequel il s’appuie a permis d’ouvrir des pistes loin des theories dominantes. Fini le prejuge anthropologique qui, sous pretexte de l’interet porte partout aux guerriers, ne veut croire a des initiations feminines ayant ses propres tabous et rites d’imprecations contre les hommes (cf. Marvin Harris, Cannibals and Kings, 1977). Un autre prejuge, lui litteraire, veut que les contes de fees soient un terme impropre herite des Classiques mais sans realite folklorique. Les recits populaires, a l’en croire, tourneraient plus autour des quetes ou un heros est confronte a l’invisible qu’autour de lutines entites (cf. J.R.R. Tolkien, “On Fairy-stories”, 1947). L’auteur ethnologue et sa femme photographe, admis en Inde et en Iran dans les oratoires prives de femmes zoroastriennes, montrent que les contes qu’elles y recitent invoquent efficacement les Fees.
