With more than 900 specimens, the Oriental Coin Cabinet in Jena is probably the most comprehensive collection of coins from the Golden Horde (13th14th centuries) outside their areas of origin. Further focal points are the coins of Georgia from the 12th to the 13th century and local copper issues in the Caucasus from the 17th to the 19th century as well as Eastern European imitations of Islamic coins from the 10th century.
Jahrhundert.
