Wittgenstein, la psychologie et les sciences humaines

Se voulant a la fois un commentaire et un essai, l’ouvrage cherche a demontrer que l’interet des remarques de Wittgenstein sur la psychologie reside dans la maniere originale dont elles lient l’examen des termes ordinaires, tels que pensee, comprehension, intention, etc., et celui des concepts mentaux a but theorique. Notre vocabulaire mental courant n’est pas destine a etre remplace par celui d’une science de l’esprit, et la psychologie savante doit, quant a elle, etre decantee d’un ensemble de confusions conceptuelles. Les sciences cognitives perpetuent un nombre de mythologies de l’esprit, et appellent une therapie comparable a celle que Wittgenstein reservait a la psychologie de son temps. L’esprit n’est ni une chose pensante, ni une interiorite revelee par l’introspection, ni le cerveau, objet des neurosciences. Suivre Wittgenstein dans sa philosophie, c’est, sans concession au sociologisme ni au relativisme, mettre en lumiere la nature sociale de l’esprit.
