Was tun wir eigentlich, wenn wir moralische Urteile fällen, also etwa sagen, dass eine bestimmte Handlung moralisch geboten ist? Auf diese Kernfrage der Meta-ethik geben naturalistische und nonnaturalistische moralische Realisten auf der einen Seite und Expressivisten auf der anderen Seite ganz unterschiedliche Ant-worten. In diesem Buch wird eine alternative Position entwickelt. Danach drücken morali-sche Sätze wahrheitsfähige normative Propositionen aus, und die Wahrheit morali-scher Urteile besteht in ihrer stabilen gerechtfertigten Behauptbarkeit. Wahr sind gemäß dieser konstruktivistischen Sicht moralische Urteile dann und nur dann, wenn sie moralisch begründet werden können und gerechtfertigt behauptbar bleiben, gleichgültig, welche Einwände gegen sie erhoben werden und gleichgültig, wie sich das nichtmoralische Faktenwissen erweitert oder verbessert.
