Der Schweizer Dichter und Pfarrer William Wolfensberger hat trotz seines kurzen, leidvollen Lebens ein vielfaltiges iuvre hinterlassen. Seine Berufe empfand er zwar lebenslang als spannungsvolle Doppelbelastung, die Konstellation eroffnete ihm aber auch neue Perspektiven auf Religion und Asthetik. In der vorliegenden Dissertation wird Wolfensberger als Dichter charakterisiert, der sich gerade von seinem theologischen Hintergrund sowie auch von seinem personlichen und sozialen Umfeld her intensiv mit dem Unsagbaren und dem Schweigen auseinandergesetzt hat. In Wolfensbergers Werk erweisen sich denn auch gerade die Stellen als spannend, die ein Schweigen thematisieren oder vollziehen. Franzisca Pilgram-Fruhauf, Jahrgang 1977, studierte Germanistik und Theologie und war von 2003 bis 2007 Assistentin am Lehrstuhl fur Systematische Theologie an der Universitat Zurich.
