Die Liebe ist langmutig, sie ist gutig … Im beruhmten 13. Kapitel des 1. Briefes an die Korinther schreibt Paulus von der Liebe (agape). Christliches Leben und christliche Gemeinde ohne Liebe bezeichnet er als nichts. Ohne Liebe fehle der rote Faden. Nuchtern beschreibt der Apostel die Facetten gelebter Zuwendung zum anderen Menschen. Immer wieder jedoch wurden und werden in der kirchlichen Verkundigung seine Worte in den Zusammenhang mit Verliebtheit, Hochzeit und gelegentlich auch mit einem Todesfall gestellt. Der Autor liest das Kapitel uber die Liebe ohne Sentimentalitat, ladt zum Verweilen bei jedem einzelnen Wort ein und stellt es in den grossen Zusammenhang der paulinischen Theologie. So offnet sich der biblische Horizont echter Hingabe an das Du im menschlichen Miteinander.
