Following a first book focused on the period in which thebas-bleusemerged, this work continues the exploration of often forgotten nineteenth-century female novelistic literature. In doing so, it contributes to a “gendered” history of the novel for the period 1848-1870.
Andrea Del Lungo enseigne la littérature française à Sorbonne Université. Spécialiste du roman du XIXe siècle, il s’est intéressé à l’œuvre des romancières dans les trois tomes de l’ouvrage collectif La Littérature en bas-bleus (Paris, 2010-2017).

Review - French Bas-bleus: au XIXsiecle, expression pejorative, voire meprisante, pour designer les femmes qui, se detournant de leurs devoirs domestiques, s'entetaient a vouloir faire de la litterature. C'est dire a quel point leur entree massive dans le domaine de l'ecriture romanesque derangea les moeurs bourgeoises et bouleversa les valeurs litteraires de l'epoque. Faisant suite a un premier ouvrage consacre a la periode d'emergence desbas-bleus, ce livre entend poursuivre l'exploration de la litterature romanesque feminine du XIXsiecle, souvent oubliee, et contribuer ainsi a une histoire genree du roman sur la periode 1848-1870.
