English summary: This volume is based on the assumption that the diversity and ambiguity of human beings form the foundations of Merleau-Ponty’s philosophy. By not regarding the contradictions and ambiguities in his thinking as a flaw but by instead making them the starting point of the analysis, the broad range of topics in his work as well as the interaction between the different subject areas can be properly appreciated. Against this background, the study focuses on two phenomena which can be seen as the central issues in his philosophy: perception and expression. These two concepts make it possible to describe the relationship between human existence and the world. At the same time, their examination helps us to gain access to the philosophy of Merleau-Ponty in all of its fascinating richness and diversity.
