Im Rahmen einer europaischen Studie wurden 2012/2013 Jugendliche sowie hauptamtlich und freiwillig Mitarbeitende zur Konfirmationsarbeit befragt. Nun werden erstmals die empirischen Ergebnisse zu diesem Bildungsangebot der reformierten Kirchen in der Schweiz vorgelegt und dabei insbesondere die Erwartungen und religiosen Einstellungen der Jugendlichen und Mitarbeitenden am Anfang mit deren Erfahrungen und Zufriedenheit am Ende der Konfirmationszeit verglichen. Statistische Untersuchungen beleuchten Aspekte wie Teilnahmemotive, Themeninteressen, Glaubensfragen, Gottesdienstpraxis, die Bereitschaft zum Engagement oder auch Teamarbeit und Methodenauswahl. Aus den einzelnen Kantonen werden Ergebnisse und deren rechtliche Grundlagen prasentiert und so regionale und kantonalkirchliche Spezifika hervorgehoben. Die Autoren und die Autorin ziehen – auch auf der Grundlage des europaischen Vergleichs – theologische und religionspadagogische Folgerungen fur die zukunftige Gestaltung der Konfirmationsarbeit, fur den Zusammenhang zur kirchlichen Jugendarbeit wie auch fur die Aus- und Weiterbildung.
