This work enables the reader to determine and compare prices, wages, and assets in the Islamic World of the Middle Ages and the early modern period on the basis of gold. Arabic, Persian and Turkish sources as well as reports from European travelers were used to convert the Islamic silver and copper coins. With the help of the book, all Islamic currency denominations can be converted to their true value and compared internationally.
