Die henologische Metaphysik ist das Herzstuck der Philosophie Plotins. Als Neuplatoniker vertritt Plotin emphatisch die strikte Transzendenz des (uber)gottlichen Einen. Das hochste Prinzip, das nach plotinischem Verstandnis jenseits von allem steht, kann weder denkend noch sprachlich erfasst werden, sondern ist wahrhaft unsagbar.
