Theatre complet
by Chevalier, edited by Jocelyn Roye
From 1660 to 1670, Chevalier was a writer-actor at the Marais theatre. In his ten comedies, devious valets rub shoulders with insolent servants, bashful lovers with subtle mistresses, and conceited doctors with ridiculous old men in supremely jubilant situations and dialogues.
