A chance find, the Foundry Δ, made it possible to re-examine all the bronze foundries, A, B, Γ, on the south slope of the Acropolis and to conclude that these foundries belonged to the same workshop, working simultaneously for the construction of the same statue. Keeping in mind the dating of the workshop in the middle of the 5th century BC, we can conclude that the south slope of the Acropolis is another place where Pheidias installed his workshop to create the bronze statue of Athena on the Acropolis, the so-called Promachos.
