Die mittelalterliche Sakralkunst gewinnt ihre Schonheit vor allem aus den dargestellten Textilien. Die biblischen Personen und die Heiligen sind dabei in “sprechende Textilien” gehullt, denn die Gewander wollen kommunizieren und fugen sich in die narrative Struktur des Katholizismus ein. Die Ausstellung im Diozesanmuseum Rottenburg fragt nach diesen narrativen Gehalten in den mittelalterlichen Werken der Rottenburger Sammlung. Zugleich haben sich in einer Kooperation mit der Hochschule Pforzheim junge Designerinnen und Designer mit den Bildwerken auseinandergesetzt. Die hieraus entstandenen Entwurfe werden den altehrwurdigen Kunstwerken gegenubergestellt, sodass traditionelle und zeitgenossische Interpretationen in Dialog treten.
