The monograph, the result of long-term work, weaves together images, artworks, and words into a collective narrative, featuring contributions from curators, critics, and fellow travelers who have accompanied Roxy in The Box along her journey.
The catalogue raisonné of Roxy in the Box narrates the work and universe of an artist who is radically pop and deeply political. Born and raised in Naples, where she consciously chose to remain, Roxy constructs a vision that blends art history and mass culture, private memories and collective memory.
Roxy in The Box began her artistic journey at the Filippo Palizzi Art Institute in Naples and later specialized in fresco at the La Dozza Building Institute in Bologna. However, it is in Naples that she chose to establish her roots. Visual art is her field of inquiry—quiet, yet deeply affecting. Painting, video, installation, performance; actions and ‘PULP_actions’ that communicate art through the body. Roxy in The Box uses Pop Art as her medium, along with everything that exists on the surface, fully embracing its languages and icons. Alongside this, there is another component that allows her to go beyond Pop Art itself: reflection, the individual and their inner turmoil, their suffering, and their solitude.
