The corpus of nonsense poetry from the 13th and 14 centuries was discovered in the nineteenth century, but it was not until the 1960s that this form became worthy of attention among experts in the field. This edition is a new take on nonsensical poetry, dedicated to Reverie (deriving from “non-relative sense”) and fatrasy (deriving from “absolute nonsense”), and the hybrid genre of the ente fatras, as it was developed in the first third of the 14th century.

French description: Le corpus de la poesie du non-sens a ete exhume au XIXe siecle, mais ce n’est qu’au detour des annees 1960 que cette forme de lyrisme devint un sujet digne d’attention pour le monde savant. Apres un demi-siecle, il est devenu clair que la condition d’un dire neuf sur ces textes – et tout specialement sur la fatrasie – passe par le depassement, voire l’oubli, de la vulgate editoriale fixee du temps des pionniers. Ce livre est une edition critique sur nouveaux frais du corpus nonsensique, reduit 1) aux deux genres polaires eclos au XIIIe siecle: la reverie (versant du non-sens relatif) et la fatrasie (versant du non-sens absolu); 2) au genre hybride du fatras ente, tel qu’il etait cultive dans le premier tiers du XIVe siecle.
