In inter- und transdisziplinarer Perspektive wird die politische und gesellschaftliche Sprengkraft der Musik der extremen Rechten analysiert. Dabei steht die Pluralisierung der Musikstile sowie die Verbreitung von rechtsextremen Inhalten und Aussagen uber Musik ebenso im Fokus wie die Wirkungen auf die Rezipierenden und die Entfaltung eines regelrechten Musikbusiness. Es werden sowohl die Moglichkeiten und Grenzen der diversen Stilistiken, Formen und Medien dieser Musik hinterfragt als auch Dimensionen des Kontextes zwischen Musik und Rechtsextremismus fur die Arbeit in der Schule, fur die Polizei und den Verfassungsschutz beleuchtet.

Right-wing Extremism – Music and Media comprises research that investigates the increasing differentiation of music, its function and its use in the right-wing extremist scene. The edited volume brings together contributions from disciplines and research areas such as musicology, music education, music theory, history, sociology, political science, constitutional protection, policing, youth and social work. The chapters take on inter- and transdisciplinary perspectives in order to analyse the immense political and societal influence of music within the extreme right. Focuses include the proliferation of music styles, communication patterns of extremist messaging and content, the impact on audiences, and the development of a right-wing music business proper. The range of examples and perspectives highlights the diversity of styles, forms and media attached to this specific music scene. The volume explores opportunities and limits of researching right-wing extremism, music and media, and it discusses consequences for practical work in schools and state security authorities.
