En 1898, Ricardo Vines (1875-1945) rencontrait le peintre Odilon Redon chez un ami commun, Maurice Fabre. De cette rencontre devait natre une amiti de plus de dix-sept ans qui fut episodiquement emaille d’echanges epistolaires des deux hommes. Les hasards de la vie nous ont permis de consulter cette correspondance qui nous a paru presenter d’autant plus d’interet qu’elle se doublait d’un Journal inedit jusqu’a ce jour. En effet, la somme de ces deux documents nous eclaire tres precisement sur la vie intellectuelle et les reflexions tres intimes de Redon et ses rapports avec les milieux occultistes de sa generation.
