English summary: In 2011, the French town of Lilas replaced its nineteenth-century church with a new, modern building that bridged the gap between religious and secular. The town’s various actors, including the parish, politically left town council, and the architects involved in the project debated, discussed, and cooperated in creating a singular edifice. The present volume documents various stages of this unique project.
