Mikrá ierá sto Asklepieío tes Epidaúrou
By (author) Eugenía Lempidáke
| This study concerns two small sacred buildings, known in literature as sacred precinct “Y’ and sanctuary “O’, dedicated to minor cults of the Epidaurian Asklepieion. Also presented are two other sanctuaries, connected in many respects to these buildings, sacred precinct “K” and sanctuary “Π”. The interpretation of the form and the approach of the cults of these sanctuaries were based on their existing state, assisted by the review of the evidence that had arisen during the first excavations, their supplementary excavation research which led to the discovery of unknown structures in them, the identification of unknown scattered material, and finally on the correlation of all these data to the cults testified by inscriptions from Asklepieion and traveler Pausanias. |
