This study centers around the question of whether the oldest documents on the life of the Prophet Muhammad integrate women into the shaping of religious education. According to the traditions, are women allowed to acquire, maintain, and impart religious knowledge? And are they portrayed as active participants or as passive background figures? In order to understand what the historical sources say, the author takes into account the complex emergence and tradition processes of the source material as well as the impact of the cultural context on its formation. German text.
