English summary: These translated texts (French) bring together some of the most important authors of the turn of the century Viennese school of art history and the Circle of Prague. They demonstrate the decisive influence of esthetic formalism in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, and specifically the reaction against German idealism and romanticism. What emerges is the effort to make esthetics into a science as part of the debate between natural and social sciences at the time.
