English summary: The Kitab al-Tahsil by Aldalusian intellectual Ibn Jatima treats the plague that devastated the Old World in the 14th century. In this work, Professor Arvide provides a critical Spanish translation and commentary of the medical component of the Kitab al-Tahsil, as it is known from three extant Arabic manuscripts. This investigation, which includes a lengthy introduction on Ibn Jatima and his literary and scientific works, as well as reproduction of some of the folios of the extant manuscripts, furthers our understanding of medieval Arabic science.
