English summary: The purpose of this work is related to a lecture on the famous “Mappamundi” of Fra Mauro (c. 1450), famed for its discursive character, and seeks to reconstruct the strategies and criteria of authoritative evaluation and the associated development of a depiction of the world. Fra Mauro was not obliged to develop his map according to a paradigmatic worldview, but rather he cataloged a variety of alternative interpretive possibilities and therefore the cartographer created a discursive cartographic space, which did not yet include the New World. At the same time, the transition of cartographic assessment of the world is described in a moment, in which various perspectives and their cultural background were not divorced from an empirical approach in representing the geographic horizons as accurately as possible in equal measure. Unspoken philosophical premises stand behind Fra Mauro, which are worked out in the matter of this investigation, on the basis of which a new level of observation is introduced in the “mappamundi” genre and its cultural background.
