Phenomene unique dans la civilisation greco-romaine, les necropoles du royaume du Bosphore Cimmerien ont livre quantite de couronnes, d’empreintes et de feuillages funeraires en fine tole d’or. Certaines parures, estampees de frappes monetaires romaines, n’ont jamais ete etudiees de maniere satisfaisante. Elles representent pourtant un gisement documentaire unique que nous souhaitons exploiter pour mieux apprehender la nature des relations liant a l’Empire romain l’elite militaire d’un royaume situe sur le littoral septentrional de la mer Noire, aux confins du monde antique. Le projet de publication vise, d’une part, a rassembler tous les specimens connus de parures funreraires de tete en or pour en dresser le catalogue, d’autre part, a emanciper ce patrimoine de son statut de tresor, lui restituant ainsi sa valeur historique et symbolique.
