English summary: With the Konigsstuhl or “King’s Chair,” the middle-Rhine city of Rhens possesses one of the principal monuments of German political history. The structure was built by the citizens of Rhens, according to the plan of Emperor Charles IV (1346-1378) that all future kings of the Holy Roman Empire would be elected and publically presented at the site. German description: Mit dem Konigsstuhl besitzt die mittelrheinische Stadt Rhens ein erstrangiges Denkmal der deutschen Verfassungsgeschichte. Auf demnach 1376 durch die Rhenser Burger errichteten Bauwerk sollten nach Planung Kaiser Karls IV. (1346-1378) alle zukunftigen romischdeutschenKonige gewahlt und der Offentlichkeit prasentiert werden.
