Barock – Moderne – Postmoderne
ungeklarte Beziehungen
edited by Viktoria von Flemming
This anthology edited by Victoria Flemming examines the as-yet-unexplained relationship between Baroque, Modernism and Postmodernism, and discusses perspectives on and the function of Baroque against the background of Baroque’s oft-asserted modernizing effect. This volume’s interdisciplinary based concept is meant not least as a contribution to the re-positioning of art history in the context of the essential and challenging debate on the relationship between Baroque and Postmodernism, which had largely been left to literary studies and philosophy. It turns out that the focus on the visual culture of the 20th century may lack depth, but a historical-systematic perspective allows for new stimuli. German text.
English summary: This anthology edited by Victoria Flemming examines the as yet unexplained relationship between Baroque, Modernism and Postmodernism, and discusses perspectives on and the function of Baroque against the background of Baroque’s oft asserted modernizing effect.
