Von 2010 bis 2016 begleitete die Landesdenkmalpflege Erhaltungsmassnahmen an der Saule, deren Ergebnisse nun hier veroffentlicht werden. Die zwolf anregenden Beitrage spannen den Bogen von der historischen Bauausfuhrung und Platzsituation uber die komplexe Schadensanalyse und statische Konstruktion bis hin zur Restaurierung des Monuments. Sie widmen sich unter anderem auch der Frage, ob es sich bei der Figur in luftiger Hohe uberhaupt um eine Concordia handelt, wie allgemein gesagt wird. Die teils spektakulare Bebilderung zeigt die vermeintlich vertraute Jubilaumssaule in neuem Licht und ungewohnlicher Perspektive. So erwachst mit diesem Band dem originalen Denkmal ein eigenes Denkmal: zwischen Buchdeckeln.
